T-minus 24 Hours To Take-Off
This is my first ever blog post! Pretty cool stuff. I've never considered myself the most technologically savvy, but I think I can pull this off. Alright, so -- I'll start by making light of my pre-Mexico adventure anxiety with a joke. Because who doesn't love a good joke??
Q: What did the pony say when it had a sore throat?
A: I apologize, I'm a little horse!
Hehehe!! Cute right?! :) I thought sooooo ....
So, what's a girl to do on her last day as an American for the next 6 months? A SMART girl would be practicing her espanol. I, on the other hand will tell you about everything I've done except that very smart thing.
The day began with coffee and a delicious bowl of (get this!) Multigrain Peanut Butter Cheerio's. Think: the sweet/salty quality of Captain Crunch meets something that's relatively healthy for you. Muy delicioso! You should buy a box soon. You won't regret it. Maybe you'll even get creative and start thinking about other things to make with them like peanut butter marshmallow chocolate chip crispy treats - with these specific Cheerio's as a stand-in for the Rice Crispies, that is. Just sayin'. They might get you that excited.

After digesting, I took a jog in my new Merrel running shoes!! Thanks to my lovely (and exponentially more financially stable) sister, Candice, I am now feeling pain throughout my legs in muscles that I didn't know I had. But dang, my butt already looks perkier! I can totally deal with that. These shoes are cute, though clearly an after-thought in the photo below. Tank steals the spotlight as usual, the handsome devil. That is his face of secret hope that I put those shoes on for a reason ...
After the jog, packing. Packing, packing, and more packing. I'm getting pretty good at it! Six months worth of clothing burrito-rolled into one suitcase. Not too shab. Admittedly, I will most likely need a suitcase of the same capacity to hold all of my toiletries, shoes, books, and all of those daily "needs" that make life more full of stuff than it should be. I'm a perpetual over-packer. Hiking the AT should get me over that. But that's another blog ;)
Food, exercise, and miscellaneous daily tasks aside, perhaps the most semi-productive thing I've been doing today is this: I have been reflecting on my life, my family, my friends, and this new opportunity that has come before me. How truly grateful, happy, and full of love I feel for the wonderful people I have the privilege of sharing this one life with. You know who you are and I thank and love you all mucho, mucho, mucho!! Hope you enjoy this dorky blog as much as I've enjoyed creating this first post. Stay in touch!
I'll end with something sentimental since I'm a sucker for quotes as much as corny jokes ...
